Chocolatey. Creamy. And so green.
Avocado in dessert? At first, it sounds like: "Salad meets dessert buffet." But wait! This avocado cocoa cream is the best example of how healthy fats and rich cocoa can form a damn good pairing.
Melt-in-your-mouth like mousse, but without eggs. Sweet, but with banana. And so creamy that even our squirrels Tobi and Rosi don't want to put their spoons down.
Ingredients for Avocado Cocoa Cream
For 2 servings you will need:
- 1 ripe avocado
- 1 ripe banana
- 35g cocoa powder – e.g. our AURA variety for maximum glow
- 60 ml Hafermilch
- 1 pinch of salt
- Toppings of your choice – especially delicious here: raspberries, pomegranate seeds, chopped almonds, mint
Rosi: "I snuck in a hint of vanilla. Just a hint!"
Tobi: "Typical Rosi. She calls it finesse, I call it snack sabotage."

Preparation of Avocado Cocoa Cream: A step-by-step guide
- Halve the avocado , remove the pit and scoop out the flesh with a spoon.
- Peel the banana and break it into pieces.
- Put everything together with the cocoa powder , oat milk and a pinch of salt into a blender – a bowl and immersion blender will also work, of course.
- Blend until creamy. Briefly taste – add more sweetener (e.g., date sugar) or spices to taste.
- Pour into glasses and decorate with toppings .
- Tip: For a firmer consistency, refrigerate the cream for 30 minutes before serving.

Tips for preparing avocado cocoa cream
- Ripeness matters: The avocado should be soft, but not mushy. Banana? The browner, the sweeter.
- Pimp your Creme: A pinch of cinnamon, vanilla, or chili gives it a special touch. Or simply use a different type of cocoa – and bam, it tastes completely different, for example, So Horny with tonka bean. Absolutely divine!
- Suitable for meal prep: Filled into small jars, the cream is the perfect snack for in between meals or a healthy dessert in a packed lunch.
- Even more chocolatey? With "one hundred percent" it becomes extra bitter and intense.
How long does avocado cocoa cream keep?
Well sealed in the refrigerator, it will keep for about 1-2 days . After that, the color will darken slightly – which isn't a problem, but it looks less appetizing. It simply tastes best fresh.
Tobi: "I tried it again after three days. It was... okay. But more like a museum piece than mousse."
Is avocado cocoa cream healthy?
Oh yes! And for several reasons:
- Avocado provides valuable unsaturated fatty acids, vitamin E, and potassium.
- Bananas provide natural sweetness and fiber.
- Cocoa is rich in antioxidants, theobromine, and magnesium.
- No refined sugar, no animal products – just honest, plant-based enjoyment
And if you prefer date sweetness to refined sugar , then you've come to the right place.
